The future of console gaming?

I was sitting on the can a few minutes ago thinking about where things are going in console gaming because my bathroom reader was too far away for me to grab. After a short time of thiking a thought came to me concerning why everything that is happening now in the world of gaming is happening. MS trading emplyees with EA, EA purchasing new developers left and right, MS selling off quite a few of its second party developers to EA, the rumour that EA is going to start it's own console, etc...I believe that all this ishappening for a reason. See I think this may be the last XBox to come because MS is going to be putting all it's financial backing behind the new EA console. I believe both companies came to some sort of deal where EA will be the producer of the console and MS will be a very strong supporeter, perhaps even being partners in the venture. Sony is going to be hard pressed on it's next release of the playstation console, Nintendo will continue to strive for ingenuity and succeed mainly due to it's popular first party titles.The future of console gaming?
I take it no one agrees with me? Or has this been posted before?
