We need more games that take place in Cl ...

Be it action oriented, RPG oriented or whatever, we need more games that take place in Classical Antiquity (i.e Greek and Rome civilizations). Those periods are just so damn cool and intriguing, with so much potential what with all the mythological beasts, gods, great wars, and legendary warriors. Come on game developers. PS: Yea God of War is a great game, but lets see more of them. Clasical Antiquity could be the new WW2 for game settings. We need more games that take place in Cl ...
I agree, but making games in those time periods good recquires a lot of skill.
Great, we'll have more quality games. And I don't care if it takes more time, I'm willing to wait.
It's good to see so many people agreeing with me :(Maybe I should add a poll.
I've always wanted a great game set in the Aztec empire. So much more interesting than Greek/Roman times and much less widely known.

(there's also clues that lead to the Ancient Japanese times as well). So Aztec times could be big possibility for Assassin's Creed 2
If Classical Antiquity means in Scarlett johansen's bosom, then i say YES!Otherwise, leave me alone.:P
I like games that create their own rules and time periods. But a new Kid Icarus would kinda fit the bill. :D

Yes, please.

Yeah, I really like those kinds of games. I want to see more stuff in like Age of Myhology.
I'm reminded of Kid Icarus, Altered Beast, and that one Act from Sonic. :(

I've always sort of wanted a First Person Shooter that takes place in the siege of Troy. You could use like, a Chinese Repeating Crossbow or something as your main weapon (hey, it makes about as much sense as the idea of the game does), and throw clay grenades, and take control of ancient wooden siege tanks as vehicles. That would be awesome. And they could call it ''Call of Honor: Ancient Warfare''I'd buy it.
i totally agree with this, games set in ancient time periods should get more burn.

Yes to CIassical Antiquity. No to Greek and Roman CIassical Antiquity.

Even in literature the Greek and Roman mythologies and histories get far too much attention. There are places like Mesopotamia with much richer and exotic histories, mythologies and cultures than the Greeks and Romans.

A game made around the Epic of Gilgamesh would literally be... epic.
Yes, and Ancient China gets like no attention. Nothing in Chinese Mythology that doesn't have dragons and tigers in it is mentioned in modern culture at all. And some game has to point out that Chinese armies had more than just kung fu and spears.
well Cl*ssical antiquity encompasses all ancient civilizations so it doesn't have to be limited to Greek and Roman civilizations. And hell, why stop at Cl*ssical Antiquity, why not go back to cavemen days. It would be pretty sick battling huge mammoths and sabertooths with your tribe. Kinda like a more realistic and epic Oregon Trail. Edit: Why am I being censored on the word Cl*ssical?
They definately get overexposed. That's why I'd like more attention in the New World. I've wanted to play a good game there ever since I read the book Aztec twelve years ago. Plus it would feel so mysterious and alien to most people, since they have relatively no knowledge about it.

Hellsyessir.
I want Greek/Roman mythology, but only if they stay away from things like 300/Gladiator/Troy.
I want to see some Ancient China/Mediterranean/India games.

I'm told by my friend that Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga is based off of Hindu and Buddhist mythology.
