If the Wii had a decent online set-up id buy one. Im ok with everything else. SSBB is nice, but I don't want to buy the system just for it.

It's 2008!I really hope they announce some voice chat headset and hard drive support, preferably directly through the USB slot or direct access to SD cards. That would be good enough for me.
I think the Wii should have better visual (and overall ) prowess, as well as, better online. It can keep it's controller, albeit some of it's best games hardly use it, or could have been done easily without it.

Yes. The Wii is weak in both fronts, and I'll be damned I guess if I want it better :?. I find it overly odd conceptually that people wouldn't want the Wii stronger in certain aspects. It's like people are happy that it's not as good as it could be. No the motion controler is great (although it should have more buttons). The problem is that the Wii is essintially a $250 Gamecube. Either $149 price point or better hardware. Otherwise it's just a massive rip-off.

If I were to pay another $50 for a Wii then I would rather it had a decent hard-drive rather than improved graphics

after playing SSBB for about 4 days now, i gotta say the wii is can pull off some nice graphics. Now , if only Nintendo can give some tips to 3rd party developers.

From the looks of it, you are a rich person. You must be greatful. Also, very few people have HDTVs especially in other countries since it's only USA and EU that's talked about here.

See here's a common theme I see among people here that I've seen for years. If a person is putting down something, then they are not a fan of it and don't like and/or care about it. It's such a piss poor assumption to make, and it's based off a mentality that views things mostly as boolean imho.Just b/c i think the system could be better, and that I would be willing to pay more for it, does not in turn mean I don't like it or that I would like Nintendo not to be in the market.Further more, I didn't say stick to the ''old mold'' did I? Nope, I said keep what makes the system unique (ie it's games and control) and make it better as a piece of hardware and some of it's online features. You make it sound like a more powerful but still unique Wii would fail, which to me sounds like a lack of confidence in what makes the Wii really unique.

I mean if you can save up the $250 to buy a Wii then save a bit more for one that could cost $300-350 is the way I look at it. Realize I don't like the price point of some other current generation systems either, it's somewhat of a joke that one company decided it would double what the standard price for consoles used to be.
