Question for all you console gamers.

How in the hell do you guys live without mods? I can only imagine it being a huge waste of money buying a game for $60. Don't you guys get bored with them?Question for all you console gamers.

I dunno. A lot of console games offer greater replay value, compared to pc games.I mean you can still go back to Mario Bros and run through it and it will not get old.

I just don't have all that much time really, considering how many games come out across the board.
I would really love to mess around with mods, especially in a game like Oblivion. But then I play a PSone game like Final Fantasy IX (started it Friday) and I see no reason what-so-ever for mods.

But I would find it hard to find something more fun than a good mmo, or fps. Add in a healthy supply of mods and you have a game that can last years. CS comes to mind. I've been playing that for almost 6 years.

Most console games come out on the PC, and a lot of the exclusive for the PC have tons of replay value.

My first post was kinda dumb, I don't think console games are more fun than PC games, but I thought I would awnser a stupid question with a stupid awnser. They are the same in my eyes. But TC I'll be playing GTAIV on my crappy console next month and Ninja Gaiden 2 and Smash Bros Brawl soon after that so I guess it's not all doom and gloom is it.Consoles are kicking major ass in 2008
Why do you need mods?
I dunno. A lot of console games offer greater replay value, compared to pc games.I mean you can still go back to Mario Bros and run through it and it will not get old.
Yeah this one is just BS. PC games have far great replay value, all because of mods.

I dunno. It feels like mods are only created when there is a need for them. If half life had a great multiplayer mode on par with its single player, would gamers have felt the need to create counter strike?
Why do you need mods?
You don't need them. But I want them so that the games I do choose to buy, don't get old and dry in a few short months.
Why do you need mods?
for far more replay value....I like the fact that I can see several new, free, TF2 maps everyday....I like the fact that GTA has 120 player per server mods and an ''mmo'' version of vice city.
Mods are only important in 2 games for me. CSS and TES.

No console bashing here. I just really wanted to know. Because mods are a big part of my gaming life.

Mods are created because players like the engine, or it's easy to work with. Nothing else really.

Mods can make a good game great.
I really would love to, but the fact is I don't have the money for a gaming PC. All my computer use is done on my Macbook Pro I got for school, and I'm flat broke until summer which then I plan to buy a Wii. But mods are not needed for every game. I feel that RPGs like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts have no need for mods because I focus a lot on the single-player aspect of games and seeing what the devs are giving me. It would be like playing custom soundtracks during a game like Final Fantasy VII, sure you'd be listening to some music you really enjoy but you're not listening to what the devs want you to listen to if you get what I'm saying. Poor analogy...but you probably get what I mean. I have gotten a small taste of mods with Unreal Tournament 3 though on the PS3, and I can say that THAT game would not be all that great if it wouldn't offer you to import the custom created content. Goes to show some games need it (or are better with it) while other games don't need it at all.
