Hi everyone,I am trying to get a new handheld, my last handheld was gameboy original.I know there are only two handhelds and they are the DS and PSP and I hardly have any idea which one should I chose. I dont have friends that use these handhelds so I do not have a hands-on experience with them. I am looking for some one to tell me which is the better choice. Here is what I know about the DS.It has long battery life and it is durable which I like. It has innovative use of stlyus, its price is a big bargain. It is selling millions and with high demand and everyone seems to like it. Yet I do not see it has great games, it has games like Nintendogs which seems babyish to me, I dont know about other Action and RPG games. The graphics seems bad to me from screenshots on the web and its too small. Here what I know about PSPIt has great games. It is like having a ps1 or ps2 on the go. Its a handheld console. It has a big screen its not much more expensive than DS. The psp has short battery life and I guess its very delicate. To me watching moveis or listening to music is no reason to buy this system, i want to play games. It has long loading times which people seem to complai about. The psp seems a better choice to me, but I think there is something I am missing or that I am not giving wii games enough credit for graphics and action fun. There is a question I really wanted ot be answered, What type of a gamer should get the DS?it has simple graphics I guess, its best games are like point and click I guess(am I wrong?), is this type of handheld for a guy that likes 360 and ps3 games or its like for someone who is plain RPG, mind games fan?Any one bought psp then found ds to be better? or the opposite? The choice of a new handheld
DS is widely accepted for having a great variety of games to play. Zelda Phantom hourglass, Metroid Prime Hunters, New Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Advance Wars, Animal Crossing, Ninja Gaiden, Final Fantasy, Professor Layton etc etc. People say the DS only has kiddy games but it's not true.PSP has a handful of good games, especially recently, but they wouldn't be enough to warrant a purchase for the system imo if it wasn't for the multimedia functions. I like both but prefer DS overall, especially in the games department. I also think graphics are completely useless on handhelds, consoles and PC is for that.
